A very successful “From Generation to Generation: Business Continuity in Family Businesses” conference was organized by LGA Israeli advisor, Mika and Galit, together with Globes the leading financial newsletter, KPMG and Meitar the leading law firm in Israel in the stock exchange in Tel Aviv on July 20. 170 of Israel’s leading enterprising families attended the conference. Ivan presented on Succession Conspiracy. Devin led a session on Managing Risks in turbulent times. Mika participated in a panel on the key factors of success in multi-generational family businesses. The event received great press coverage and generated a number of LGA project leads.

LGA’s Advisors and KPMG Israel

Earlier this week in Israel LGA’s Advisors and KPMG Israel hosted the periodic meeting of the Family Office Forum. The experts on enterprising families discussed continuity management, dispelled some common myths about family businesses, and more importantly, examined the engines of continuity that enable successful intergenerational transfers and development of the family business over the years. Other topics discussed were the world of taxes and the connection to the family – trusts, wills, donations, philanthropy, intergenerational transfers and more. Among the speakers were Amir Shani, Mika Mazor, Advisor at LGA and Cohen Nissim Congratulations to all the participants and attendees for their contributions to Family Business Continuity.

The banking industry remains in crisis after the downfall of Silicon Valley Bank and the forced takeover of Credit Suisse last month, affecting businesses and investors worldwide. Family businesses and family offices in particular must navigate new and recurrent risks to safeguard their assets and operations. Global Family Business Award

Congratulations to Organización Carvajal on winning the 2022 Global Family Business Award!  The award was created by IMD in 1996 and recognizes excellence in the art of building and managing a successful, sustainable and well-governed family enterprise. Partnering with IMD in this award are the Scheufele family and FBN-The Family Business Network .
LGA congratulates the Carvajal family, and particularly our Partner Gustavo Adolfo Carvajal Sinisterra for being a role model for family enterprises in Colombia and around the world, both on good business and governance practices, as well as fulfilling its social responsibilities with the communities they interact with. As one of Carvajal’s leaders once said: “ There cannot be a healthy company in a socially ill environment”.

As we celebrate the end of our first quarter century and enter the next with great energy and  excitement, we wanted to share with you a new and improved LGA Experience: a new name and logo, a new website, and a podcast, LGA Lighthouse.
