Kathleen is a psychologist with deep experience blending her training in family and organizational systems with philanthropic strategy and governance. She is a thoughtful partner in helping families and teams navigate interpersonal dynamics to design effective approaches to governance, operations and organizational culture that strengthen both the family and the enterprise. Kathleen is committed to a direct and practical approach that builds the capacity of individuals, teams and families to develop high-trust, high- performing partnerships.
Kathleen brings this same expertise to work with family enterprises, often supporting families in taking an intentional and disciplined approach to strengthening organizational culture and planning for successful leadership transitions.
She teaches in the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University and maintains a consulting practice advising leadership teams on governance, organizational design and culture.
Prior to coming to LGA, Kathleen led Talent, Integration and Culture for the Ewing Marion
Kauffman Foundation. Her specialty is helping teams develop new ways of working together to achieve the impact they collectively seek.
Kathleen holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from American University in Washington, D.C.; a master’s degree in psychology from Columbia University; and a master’s and doctorate degrees in psychology from Rutgers University. She lives in Kansas City where she serves on the boards of the Kansas City Campus for Animal Care and TEDxKC, as well as on the Advisory Board for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).
