Juana Carvajal works in consulting teams with client-families across Latin America in the design and implementation of continuity plans for family businesses navigating generational transitions.
Drawing on her academic background and personal experience as a member of a family
business, she brings a strong understanding of team development, group dynamics, and conflict
management. Juana has collaborated on a variety of projects across the region, preparing client presentations, drafting proposals, and conducting research to inform advisory work.
In addition to her professional experience, Juana comes from a family business background
herself, being actively involved in two family enterprises. Growing up within this environment
has given her a lived and personal understanding of family dynamics, ownership transitions, and
the complexities that families face when personal and business systems intersect. This
perspective allows her to approach each engagement with both professional expertise and
personal empathy.
Juana holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, and a
Master’s degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia
University in New York City. She is Colombian, fully bilingual in Spanish and English, and currently lives in Bogotá, Colombia.
